ART SCULPTURE CYPRUS
Creating a sculpture in marble means to me a translation of my vision, giving the block of stone a new, elegant form. The form, with its beautiful shapes, translucency, light, and shadows, and delicacy of lines and curves, appears and vanishes into the stone. My passion as a sculptor is to find an interesting organic form. Carrara marble is the perfect material for me because every piece is unique. I like to play with this material. This marble has a high tensile strength, can take a high gloss polish, and holds very fine details, which I love. As a young girl, I was interested in Greek mythology, which is the reason why many of my artworks have a mythology title.

Most of my artwork I prefer to create in Statuario and Calacatta. Statuario is the best quality Carrara marble and the most used in art sculpture by artists. This sort of marble is considered the rarest and most prestigious one. It has a brilliant white background and soft veining. Carrara and Calacatta marble are from the same quarry area, but they distinguish themselves from an aesthetic point of view. Carrara marble is white with gray/black veining veins. Calacatta has a more dynamic and vivid background with lively veining. It is one of the most appreciated materials in the world.
Hannas ART WORK
Marble art sculptures have a rich history dating back to ancient civilizations, with iconic examples found in Greek and Roman antiquities. Renaissance Italy witnessed a revival of marble sculpture, led by artists like Michelangelo, whose masterpieces like the Statue of David remain iconic to this day. Today, marble sculptures continue to evolve, blending classical traditions with contemporary styles, making them enduring expressions of artistic creativity.
Carrara marble, with its luminescent white purity, offers artists a canvas of unparalleled beauty, turning sculpted forms into eternal symphonies of light and shadow, harmony and contrast, capturing the very essence of elegance and permanence in every carved detail.
Carrara has attracted and nurtured countless artists over the centuries. The city and its environs offer a range of schools, workshops, and studios dedicated to the art of sculpting. The prestigious Accademia di Belle Arti di Carrara, founded in the 18th century, continues to draw aspiring artists from around the globe, offering extensive courses in painting, sculpting, and other artistic disciplines.
